Mission Statement:

SpokAnimal leads communities in humane/proactive ways to promote and preserve the human-companion animal bond.

Vision Statement:

SpokAnimal will save lives by caring for and finding loving homes for homeless pets in our community and beyond

Our strong community presence and relationships help identify the need for innovative programs that are designed to strengthen the human-companion animal bond by providing resources for pets and their people.

From our food bank to our clinical programs, our vision will always be to help those who are not able to fully provide for their pets.

We care for more than 6,000 animals annually through adoptions and community programs.

We have a 95.5% live-save rate, one of the highest in the nation for a shelter of our size and scope.

Farm Livin'

The outcome for many cats in animal shelters is grim. Call it deadly. In order to save the lives of more of the thousands of cats and kittens that come into Spokane area shelters each year we created our Farm Livin’ program in 2009. This is a cooperative program with area farm homes who need barn cats for rodent control.

Guardian Angel Program

This community service provides emergency pet boarding so beloved pets aren’t surrendered when an owner needs medical care or faces housing transitions. It’s a great way to plan for the succession of care for your pet too!

Pets 2 Vets

KREM 2 & Spokanimal are proud to launch a new effort to save shelter dogs and support our area veterans. Pets to Vets is expanding to aid veterans that need emotional support animals to live fuller and healthier lives. With your donation, local shelter dogs will be specially trained to help with a variety of PTSD related challenges.
